Welcome to the White Bear Lake Robotics Team Website!

Welcome to the White Bear Lake High School FIRST Robotics Competition Team website. We are a group of students from White Bear Lake, Minnesota, who compete in a science and technology competition called FIRST. FIRST stands for "For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology." Every January FIRST gives us a new game for which we have six weeks to design, build, test, and program a robot. At the end of the build season, we ship our robot off to a regional competition to compete. Regional competitions are held worldwide throughout the month of March and the first weekend in April. Ending the game season is the Championship Competition at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Georgia, in the month of April. This year's challenge is a soccer-inspired game, which is called Breakaway. The mission of the White Bear Lake Robotics Team is to design and build a robot to compete in a FIRST Robotics Competition regional event, to learn fabrication and engineering skills and best practices from adult mentors, to foster creativity, teamwork, and "Gracious Professionalism," and to have fun with science and technology.
The 2010 Season has begun!
We attended the 2010 kick-off event at the University of Minnesota on January 9, where FIRST unveiled the 2010 challenge: Breakaway. This event marks the start of our 6 week build season, which ends on February 23, when we must ship our robot to the competition. We will be competing in the Minnesota Northstar Regional at Mariucci Arena on the University of Minnesota campus. The competition will take place on April 1-3, 2010.
